5 cm per second

I used to be a big fan of anime and manga when I was a teenager in the mid 90s but it was really hard to obtain much of either aside from a few films like Tank Police, Vampire Hunter D, Project A-KO and Akira so I eventually lost interest.

Nowadays, every bookstore I visit in the USA has tons and tons of manga books translated into English but I haven't really paid much attention to it.

I was thinking about this today and decided to start researching some anime films that might be worth watching.

I've been reading some good reviews about an anime film titled "5 cm per second" and I found it on youtube so I guess I'll probabaly watch at least part of it today.

Three Musicians

Las Meninas

Las Meninas (Spanish for The Maids of Honour)[1] is a 1656 painting by Diego Velázquez (1599–1660), the leading artist of the Spanish Golden Age, in the Museo del Prado in Madrid. The work's complex and enigmatic composition raises questions about reality and illusion, and creates an uncertain relationship between the viewer and the figures depicted. Because of these complexities, Las Meninas has been one of the most widely analysed works in Western painting.
