New Year's Eve

Well, we made it folks. Another year down. Time to say Good-bye to 2017 and Hello to 2018.

Overall, I have to say that, for me personally, 2017 was a pretty good year.

I finished my contract with my current employer in Beijing and found a better job in a better part of the city which will begin in February 2018. I was able to visit the Philippines multiple times and travel through Bangkok and Cambodia with the woman I will be marrying in February. I self-published a short book of only 52 pages on Amazon and then, last month, was able to add more content and increase the overall page length or over 200 pages.

I'm sure there are other achievements and experiences I've had throughout the year which have made 2017 a positive year but those are the ones that stand out the most.

I don't plan on going out and celebrating tonight. I plan on relaxing at home, playing some PS4 and most having a conversation with my future wife on Skype (if she wants to...she's currently with some relatives in Antipolo).

I don't have to work tomorrow so I'm just happy that I can stay up late tonight and sleep in tomorrow.

I recently bought my plane ticket to Manila on-line and will be flying out of Beijing on Sunday January 21st and arriving at 5:50 am on Monday January 22nd to help finish preparing for my wedding.

2017 was a pretty good year and I hope that 2018 will be even better.

Happy New Year!

2011 to 2015

Between 2011 and 2015 I was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and didn't have a lot of free time and when I did I was usually sleeping or exploring Japan or a port with my camera. I wrote less and devoted more time to photography. I did keep a journal on my laptop but that laptop is currently in California and I'm back in China teaching again.

In 2011 I went to boot camp, A School and C School in the USA to complete my Navy training and between 2012 and 2015 I was stationed in Atsugi, Japan.

I completed three 6 month deployments aboard the USS George Washington and visited several countries including: Singapore, Malaysia, The Philippines, Guam (USA), Hong Kong (China), Australia and South Korea.

I took thousands of photos and published many of them on my Facebook page for my friends and family to enjoy but I think I might start posting some of them here also to account for that period in my life.

Some of my accomplishments and interesting experiences during that time include:
1.) Meeting the woman I am currently engaged to marry on February 16, 2018
2.) Receiving an Honorable Discharge from the US Navy
3.) Meeting Karl Pilkington in Japan when he was filming "The Moaning of Life"
4.) Seeing Melt Banana in concert 3 times in Japan (I think I posted about them here in the past)
5.) Visiting and photographing Mount Fuji, Kamakura, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagasaki, Nagoya, Nagano, Nikko, Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.....something I had wanted to do for many years
6.) Taking a photo of Iwo Jima from our ship with my ipod (I think that's cool)

Here are a few pics from that time that I have on my laptop.....

I self-published a book on Amazon

I haven't posted much here recently, been doing vlogs on youtube instead.

Just wanted to announce that I'm selling a book on Amazon.
