I've been applying to jobs left and right since I returned from China to the USA in September 2009....and I am still unemployed. So, now I am thinking that I may need to get back in school starting in fall 2010 and rather than pursue a Master's Degree I am considering enrolling in one or more short-term programs at a local (and affordable) community college. I'm going to list some of the programs I am interested in here....not because I expect anyone to read this but just to help me keep track of some of my ideas/options.
1.) Business Certificate of Achievement
2.) Business Certificate of Specialization
3.) Chinese Courses
4.) Certificate of Specialization: Emergency Medical Technician I
5.) Hotel and Restaurant Management Associates Degree
6.) Paralegal Associates Degree
7.) Associate in Science Degree: Administration of Justice
8.) Certificate of Achievement: Administration of Justice
9.) Associate of Science Degree: Human Resources Manager
10.) Certificate of Achievement: Retail Management
11.) Certificate of Specialization: International Trade - Finance
12.) Certificate of Completion: International Trade - Marketing
13.) Associate in Science: Fire Technology: Pre-Service
14.) Certificate of Achievement: Fire Technology: Pre-Service
I think that retail management, EMT and hotel and restaurant management programs are the three from this list that appeal to me the most.
I am also interested in being a resident apartment manager and a background actor.
